Short biography

Sonya Amos was born in Hong Kong in 1974. She received her B.Sc. degree in applied physics from Staffordshire University, England, in 1995 and an M.Sc. degree in microwave solid state physics from the University of Portsmouth, UK in 1996.From 1996 to 2004 she was a Principle RF Engineer in the Radio Technology Department of Nortel Networks focusing on the design, development and test of a variety of antenna designs and applications. From 2004 to 2012 she was a Senior Specialist in the Antenna Group of EADS Astrium. Her roles included Proposal and Customisation RF Product Manager (2008–2011), Antenna Manager of a variety of proposals (2007–2011) and involvement in key R&D topics as well as RF and RF System Prime Responsible for a variety of flight programmes (2005–2007, 2010). From 2012 to 2019 she was in the Future Satellite Systems Group at Eutelsat. Since 2019 she is with Airbus and is currently at Airbus Defence and Space. Ms. Amos is author and coauthor of a number of papers and 9 patents.
