Ashray comes from the southern city of Hyderabad in India. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 2019 in Electronics and Communication Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India. He then worked for two years from 2019 to 2021 in the industry as an RF and Antenna Design Engineer. He received his Master’s degree in 2023 in Electromagnetics, Fusion and Space Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. In 2024, he started his PhD at Génie Électrique et Électronique de Paris (GeePs) at Sorbonne University, France. His PhD is about glide-symmetric metasurfaces for radar RF front-ends and he is funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MCSA), project GENIUS, under joint collaboration with IMST GmbH. He will spend 1.5 years at Sorbonne University and 1.5 years at IMST GmbH with a 2-month secondment at Sinowave AB. He is supervised by Guido Valerio and Massimiliano Casaletti at Sorbonne University, Simona Bruni and Marta Arias Campos at IMST GmbH, and Zhongxia Simon He at Sinowave AB.
